Roles and Responsibilities
- Participate in the development of testing benchmarks for consumer electronics products
- Test and evaluate products according to benchmarks
- Regularly write up product reviews and features for an intelligent, but not highly technical audience
- Keep up with new product news and pitch current and topical article ideas
- Interact with vendors, maintain vendor relationships, and obtain review units
- Use a sophisticated but user-friendly content-management system to enter articles
- Position will be responsible for a subset of the following products: HDTV; Hi-Def players and recorders; PC displays; laptop, notebook and desktop computers; media players; smartphones; storage; networking; digital still and Hi-Def camcorders; home theater; Web-based and desktop software; digital life style; digital convergence
- This position reports to the Senior Editor
Your Qualifications
- Prefer candidates with experience in online publishing and high tech product evaluations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Understanding of technology and usage of consumer electronics and products
- Ability to tests products and write high-quality articles on a tight deadline
- Ability to create graphics and charting data in Microsoft Excel
- Ability to write articles using Microsoft Word
